Back with another blog
And this time it's about winter
Not long left now right?
Well, it's actually starting to get really cold now already (well for me that is!)
I don't know how i'll cope come November/December time
For us humans, we can keep warm
Turn the radiator on
Snuggle up in a blanket
But what about our little feline friends?
Yes, they have fur
But that doesn't mean they won't ever feel cold
When the weather starts to drop below freezing temperature
That's when it can become a real problem for your cat
Cats can suffer from cold weather
They can catch hypothermia which can ultimately lead to DEATH !
That's why it's important to keep cats warm in winter
Not only that, but they feel cold too right just like us
So let's look at different ways on how you can keep your cat warm in winter
Make Your Home Warm
It's a obvious one right?
Keep your house warm
Leave the heating on
Move your cats bed or whatever they sleep on to someplace where it's warm like near the radiator
Be sure to let some sunshine in so your cat can take a nap in the sun
But what about when you go work?
You won't leave the heating on all day because that will create a deep whole in your wallet!
That means your house may become cold right?
Which is why I would recommend getting a heated cat bed
Your cat will love that!
You must be wondering if it's actually safe for your cat to sleep on a heated cat bed
But no need to worry because it's completely safe 100%
They're actually good to use by your cat
Here's a really popular cat bed among cat parents
K&H Pet Products Thermo-Kitty Heated Pet Bed, Mocha, Small
That looks pretty cosy right?
I wouldn't mind snuggling up in this lol!
I think it's essential to have one during the winter months

Keep Your Cat Indoor
If your cat is a outdoor cat then you should try to keep them indoors
I know it's easier said than done
But you could try to entice them to stay indoors
That way you know they're inside safe and warm
It can be dangerous to leave a cat outside all night in winter
If you can't keep them indoors then you could keep them warm outside
How?
By building a cat house for them
It can be a DIY project you can work on
But if you're lazy like me then you can just purchase one
Something like this
K&H Pet Products Birchwood Manor Outdoor Thermo-Kitty Home (Heated) Natural Wood 18" x 16" x 15" 25W
Looks cosy right?
Your Cat would love that!
The best part?
It takes few minutes to build :D
Happy days!
Wrapping It Up
Keeping your cat warm in winter is very important
Cats can get sick from cold weather
So it's up to us cat parents to help ensure they are kept warm and cosy
Try to keep your house warm at all times for your cat
If you can, invest in a heated cat bed so that way, if you're out of the house, your cat has a cosy place to rest
Try to keep drafts out of the house by closing any areas where you feel a cold draft coming in
Let the sunlight in the house so your cat can get some sun too
That's all from me for now!
Until then!
Cats rule :)
